      Detailed Specs

Pantographs are the interfaces between trolley wires, bus bars and mobile electrical consumers. During operation they face different thermal loads. The loading level depends on current distribution and the quality of critical connection inside the system. The HuDe test unit for pantograph enables automatic long term simulations and analyses for electrical and thermal loads by different current levels. The mobile current supply module of the HuDe pantograph test unit produces a defined direct current for load tests up to 3000 ampere with max. 6 Volt. The supply unit works on a galvanic isolated base in accordance with EN regulation for low tension. That means that no isolation protection is necessary. Monitoring and control of the current supply module is realized by a serial link. The connection to the pantograph is done via flexible high current cables.

      Computer technology and test analysis:
The approved modular measuring system Interfacer4 is the center of the HuDe pantograph test unit. It is integrated in a mobile 19’’ rack and is controlled and operated by a Laptop. For easy connection of the many temperature and current sensors the front panels are equipped with sockets. The connection to the current supply module is realized by a central control cable with interface plugs on both sides. The total control and monitoring of the system is done by a special HuDe-Software which is installed on the adapted Laptop.
This system can be integrated in existing networks on demand.

      Software:
The newly developed operating and control interface represents the latest design in this application. A drawing or picture of the pantograph can be loaded and visualized on the screen. The different positions of the several sensors can be realized visually and are easy to move by drag and drop. The chosen position is stored in the software for the test documentation. Each individual measurement point is shown on the screen in its correct position together with the actual measurement value. They current load of the pantograph is controlled by the software and can be changed during the test period following an individual created time schedule automatically.

All results of the test period will be stored time based in tabular and graphic form. Scales and layouts can be chosen free. Exports of measurement results to Excel® or Diadem® are implemented. Test parameter sets can be stored and are available as a base for further tests. The documentation of the test results can be generated by paper or electronic medium.
